Rotary District 5320 Face Shield Project has now concluded, but the project continues. Fullerton Rotary has taken over the ongoing project to build Face Shields in the fight against the Covid-19 virus and to provide support for our health care workers.
EMTs, doctors, nurses, food servers, hospital staff of all kinds.
Right now, they need our help to stay safe as much as we need theirs.
So please. Help us help them.
We’ll all breathe a little easier as we fight this thing together.
CLUBS CAN ORDER MORE FACESHIELDS HERE
More than 70,000 Face Shields have been built and being distributed by Rotary clubs.
BUY ASSEMBLED FACE SHIELDS
Purchase Assembled Face Shields from Assured.
If you prefer to skip the building, or if you are an outside health-care organization, Assured can supply fully assembled, unlabeled face shields at $3.95 ea. in lots of 50 ($197.50 per box plus USA shipping of approximately $25 per box shipped FedEx). These are built by a combination of PacMin and Assured employees, and some volunteers to keep costs down, and not exclusively by Rotarians.
ROTARY CLUBS/DISTRICTS BUILDING FACE SHIELDS
Purchase Face Shield Kits at cost. Limited to Rotary Clubs/Districts.
We have had numerous inquiries about how to replicate this extremely successful project. Rotary Clubs/Districts in California, Arizona, and Utah are now making a difference in their communities by replicating the project.
Assured, a Rotarian-owned company, has been designated a supplier/distributor for Face Shield components. Component kits may be purchased by Rotary Clubs & Districts in increments of 500 face shields.
Each kit contains the following:

- 2 Rolls of 1/2″ elastic fabric for headbands (each roll contains elastic for 250 shields)
- 500 pieces of 1″ x 1″ x 8″ foam with self-adhesive tape
- White thin packing foam sheets (to place between layers of finished shields)
- A master template.
Cost is $1,250 per kit ($2.50/shield) plus shipping via FedEx Ground.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
CREATING A TEMPLATE
Templates are easy to create. Here are the steps:
- Place a shield on the heavy paper with the rounded corners towards you, leaving a few inches between the bottom and the paper edge.
- With masking tape, outline the left, top and right edges. No need for a bottom piece.
- Place an 8” strip (we use blue tape) centered on the top edge, leaving a 1/2” gap between the tape and the outline at the top.
We have found having one person cutting the elastic for everyone is easier than each person cutting their own. You can make a template for that task with a single piece of tape 17” long (adjust length as needed)
ASSEMBLY SITES
Each assembly site will need to furnish the following for building:
- Additional templates for assembly stations (built from master template)
- Stickers/labels to apply to front (Avery 5161/8161 recommended)
- Staplers, staples, stapler remover
- Heavy Paper for Templates – approx. 24″ x 36″
- Masking/Painters tape (1″ wide) to create templates (Yellow: 3M 301+24, Blue: Scotch Painter’s Tape 2090-24EVP)
- Black Gorilla Tape to cover the staples with 1/2″ x 1/2″ pieces.
- Box Packing Tape (Re-use the kit boxes to pack completed shields)
Recommended volunteer safety items:
- Printed Check-in Sheet & Waiver (recommended)
- Gloves (optional)
- Masks (surgical or N95)
- Non-contact infrared thermometer to monitor volunteers (recommended)
- Sanitary wipes or sanitary spray
- Water & snacks for volunteers
